NOTES FROM YOUR PRESIDENT:
“Lifeline for a Lifetime”
Greetings to all,
Did you know that February is Heart month? The 4th is the American Heart Association’s National Wear Red Day and of course the 14th is Valentine’s Day. It is with that thought in mind that I decided I’d write about our association’s motto: “Lifeline for a Lifetime”. Exactly what does that mean? It means that we care about our fellow retirees and want to be available to provide any needed assistance that we can. It might be as simple as lending an ear, extending our hand or just opening our heart. Nice words but how do we apply them?
Well, it starts with letting people know that help is available if needed. We have many resources available to us that others may not be aware of. Sometimes all someone needs is to be pointed in the right direction to receive the assistance they need. Other times it might be that someone needs a ride to a doctor’s appointment or to the monthly luncheons. Whatever the need, there maybe someone right here within our association ready and willing to provide the help or support needed. If not, we can direct you to the agency or organization that can.
Remember, no one can help if they don’t know what’s needed. So, if you find yourself in need of assistance take hold of the Lifeline and let us know how we can be of help.
