Do We Have Any Volunteers Out There?
Anyone volunteering for a VBREA sponsored activity should keep track of their hours on a monthly basis along with the name and date of the activity. Please submit this information to smackay@vbgov.com . This volunteer information brings awareness of what the association is giving back to the City of Virginia Beach as an organization when submitting its annual report to the Office of Volunteer Resources and to City Council.
We want to thank you for your participation

Operation lookout expanded
The Virginia Beach Police Department is proud to announce a program just for you;
Operation Lookout Expanded.
Our Goal: The goal of “Operation Lookout Expanded” is to make our senior citizens residing in the City of Virginia Beach feel safer in their homes.
*ATTENTION SENIOR CITIZENS*
The “Operation Lookout Expanded” program is a grant which provides funds for the purchase and installation of large –view peepholes. The peepholes will be provided and installed by Virginia Beach Police Officers from the Crime Prevention Unit.
Who is Eligible? All senior citizens (50 years of age and older) residing in the City of Virginia Beach are eligible; only private homes or rental properties with the owner’s approval will qualify.
How Much Will This Cost? There is no cost to have this service provided.
How Do You Qualify? You must agree to have a Virginia Beach Police Officer from the Crime Prevention Unit conduct a home security assessment. Upon completion of this assessment, a 180°
large-view peephole will be installed in the front door of the residence. A Crime Watch Lamp Adapter, 911 Flash–Lite, will be placed into the front porch light. The lamp adapter can turn any light fixture into a life-saving device. With two flips of the existing light switch, it activates a flashing light to signal neighbors or to quickly direct Police, Fire, or EMS to a home.
Who Do I call? Call the Virginia Beach Police Department’s Crime Prevention Unit, MPO Dolly Deans at: 385-1068
